The Lowery Associates Company is one of the oldest Manufacturer’s Representative companies in the United States, founded by Leiter Daniel Lowery in 1938 as L.D. Lowery Inc. serving an emerging electronics market prior to World War II. The company established its headquarters in Philadelphia.

“Doc” Lowery worked out of his automobile covering the Middle-Atlantic States during and after the war. As the post-war U.S. enjoyed economic growth, the electronics market began to move from radio to television and more sophisticated electronics products. L. D. Lowery began to grow and added sales people to its staff. L.D. Lowery concentrated on the OEM market thus creating the need for a new company, Lowery Associates, to service the growing general line distributor market which primarily serviced the dealer service market. 

The two companies worked together under one umbrella until 1999 when the decision was made to create two separate, independent companies. Lowery Associates Company became an independent company in March 2000, moving its offices from Broomall (Philadelphia), Pa. to Mt. Airy, Md. near the Baltimore-Washington area. Lowery covers Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. (UTP Territories 7,8 and 10), zip codes 080XX-087XX and 168XX-246XX as well as selected lines in North and South Carolina.

Lowery Associates today still services the general line electronic (including datacom and telecom) market and system contractor market. Over the past few years, the company has moved into the wireless, electrical, industrial, automation, process control, material handling, fastener and HVACR as it relates to the electronic/electrical products it represents.

The Lowery Associates Company provides sales and marketing services for the principals it represents as well as the companies it sells to. In addition, Lowery provides training, leads, trade show and open-house support, demonstrations, inventory management, joint customer calls, point-of-purchase materials and promotional fliers and a host of other support mechanisms designed to create a successful business relationship between the supplier, customer and representative.

Lowery Associates personnel are always in touch by way of nationwide cellular phones, pagers, lap-top computers, e-mail, fax and voice-mail. Lowery uses the ERA –endorsed RPMS Window-Based Representative Sales and Commission Tracking Program which is administered by a contracted statistician.
